Nomadic In April 1912, fashionable passengers on Titanic's maiden voyage were ferried out from Cherbourg on a beautifully appointed tender, Nomadic.
For the last twenty years or so, Nomadic was rusting away as a restaurant boat, moored on the Seine by the Eiffel Tower, and was just about to be scrapped when someone realized that Nomadic was the last surviving ship of the White Star Line. After a successful fund drive by the Nomadic Preservation Society, spearheaded online by the volunteers at Encyclopedia Titanica, Nomadic has recently been returned to Belfast where she will be restored as a museum. It's never too late to donate to the NPS; they take PayPal and they'll put up a plaque with your name on it. My name is on the pledge roll now, but I'm trying to get them to replace it with Alexander and Perdita's, who have a stake, as we shall see....
